About Hughsonville Fire District:
The Hughsonville Fire District is located in the Town of Wappinger in Dutchess County, New York, about 60 miles north of New York City in the beautiful Hudson Valley. We are responsible for a nine square mile district located between the Village of Fishkill to the south and the Village of Wappingers Falls to the north. The district includes two arterial highways, a dense commercial atmosphere and a mix of residential housing types. It also includes an important marine exposure along 1½ miles of Hudson River shoreline and the mouth of the Wappinger Creek. In addition to providing exceptional Fire/Rescue services to the 9,000 residents of the fire district, the district's fire department also operates a ladder truck and a marine/dive unit. One of the most progressive fire districts in the region, the Hughsonville Fire Department has become the "go to" mutual aid department for many surrounding fire districts.
