The Bay County Department of Water and Sewer joined the MITN Purchasing Group on June 4, 2103 providing its vendors with convenient access to bid information on the system.

The Bay County Department of Water and Sewer invites all local vendors to join MITN to receive access to its upcoming bids. Vendor benefits of registering on MITN include:

  • 24-hour access to local government opportunities
  • Notification customized to the vendors' products or services provided
  • Reliable and timely delivery of notifications, addendums and documents
  • Advanced notification of Term-Contracts

"The benefits to participation in the procurement network and sharing resources with other agencies are many", said Tom Paige, Director of Bay County Department of Water & Sewer. "As part of MITN we will be able to assure the Department obtains the best costs possible for DWS projects -- which is critical in the current economic climate," Tom added.

The network was developed and is maintained by BidNet, an Albany, N.Y. company that manages 15 government purchasing groups throughout the country.

Vendors who provide goods and services can register for the system to receive bid opportunities from the Bay County Department of Water and Sewer and the system's other local Michigan government agencies. The online system is easy for staff and vendors to use, while minimizing costs, and improving process efficiency and transparency. Vendors can register online at http://www.mitn.info.
