DOT FUNDING 2016: STATES, MUNICIPALITIES AND SPECIAL DISTRICTS
The United States Department of Transportation (DoT) presents a new budget every Fiscal Year, detailing how and where federal transportation dollars will be spent. While the yearly budget provides important information about year-on-year spending and covers all of the relevant sub-departments of the DoT, it also presents a high-level summary of the Departmental vision for the year to come and puts yearly spending priorities in the context of long-term funding plans.
In this research paper we will examine the high-level priorities of the DoT in FY2016, look at the investments that are proposed for state and municipal transportation infrastructure in the near future, and detail how purchasing agencies and vendors alike can apply for and benefit from DOT funding.
